Getting started
Ink AI turns a sentence into original tattoo designs and previews one of them on a photo of your own arm, back or wrist, so the decision gets made before the needle does.
- Describe the tattoo in your own words: the subject, the mood, any text it has to carry.
- Choose a style and a size.
- Compare the four designs that come back and pick the one worth keeping.
- Photograph the placement you have in mind and preview the design there.
There is no signup step. An account is created for you when you install the app, so you can start straight away.
Common questions
Are the designs shown before I buy made from my photos?
No. Those are examples generated in advance to show what each style looks like, and they are labelled as examples in the app. Designs of your own are generated only when you spend a credit.
Can I get lettering or a date tattooed straight from a design?
Read it letter by letter first. Text and fine detail are where image models go wrong most often, and a tattoo is permanent — have your artist set the final lettering.
Is the placement preview what the tattoo will look like?
It is a drawing over your photo, not a photograph of a real tattoo. Size, line weight and the way a design follows the curve of your body are things to settle with your artist.
Subscriptions, cancelling and refunds
- Where you are billed. Paid plans are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. The price and the renewal terms are shown on the purchase screen before you buy.
- Cancelling. On iOS: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the plan until the period you paid for ends.
- Refunds. Ask the store. We do not hold your payment method and cannot refund you directly. We never see or store your card number.
- Restoring a purchase. If you have paid but the app does not show the plan, use the restore option on the purchase screen while signed in to the same store account you bought with.
When a generation fails or looks wrong
- Check your connection and try again — generation runs on our servers, so the app needs to reach them.
- Give the model more to work on: a sharper, better-lit photo, or a more specific description.
- Generate again. Output is probabilistic, so a second attempt with the same input can give a noticeably better result.
- Results are not guaranteed to be accurate. Designs are produced by an AI image model and are starting points, not stencils. Lettering, dates and fine detail can come out wrong, and a placement preview is a drawing over your photo rather than a photograph of a real tattoo. Check the design, its size and the way it sits on your body with a tattoo artist before anything is inked.
